WWE

I have recently got into a TV show called WWE which is basically professional wrestling, I have no idea how I got into it but since I have I am truly addicted. You'll hear a lot of people say that its fake but its not its just scripted because there is no way you can fake getting suplexed through a table,I can't really explain why this is so good all I can say is go watch a match and see if you like it.

Colours,Colours and more???

Colours yes that is the correct answer and here are some colours see if you can figure out the connection between them.

Techniquest

This Wednesday we made a trip to Techniquest Glyndwr where we did a course on CSI or Crime Scene Investigation.

The first part of the course was all about fingerprints, the plot was that the head of Techniquest had been murdered and we had to solve the murder by looking for fingerprints, but before we could do that we learnt all about fingerprints. Did you know there are three types of fingerprint patterns: Loops making up 60% of the population, Whorls make up 35% percent and Arches 5%. There were two suspects Dan and Aled and we had to find out which one had committed the murder, I won't spoil who did it in case you want to go.

The second part of the course was that a teddy given to Lord and Lady Landaff by the royal family had been stolen and we had to use the evidence given to us to find out who had done it, it was easy anyway the Butler always does it...only joking it wasn't him this time. I had an excellent day and would highly recommend it to any one, there is a link here.

Afterwards there was a load of other activities you could do, my favourite was the mirror maze. I tried to run through it as fast as I could and slammed into one of the mirrors at break neck speed. It hurt. A lot.

Peppermint Patties

A few days ago I rediscovered a you-tuber called TodsKitchen and found a brilliant quick recipe called  Peppermint Patties.

They were relatively easy to make but it was hard to get the right consistency for rolling into shape. They tasted great and when dipped in chocolate tasted exquisite.

BIRTHDAY

27 August 2014 MY BIRTHDAY!!!

I had a brilliant birthday day with my family and mates

In the morning I had my presents from my parents, this consisted of in my opinion one of the best board games of all time Carcassonne which is a tile based board game.Off my brother I got the Bear Grylls Autobiography Blood Sweat and Tears and also a worst case scenarios DVD.

In the afternoon my dad some how talked me into going Go-Karting and so I went with my mate brother and dad on the condition that my dad would not zoom passed me at 40 mph. 15 minutes of Go-Karting later,as I climbed out of the Go-Kart I felt nervous being in the same car as my dad as he was still in go-Karting mode and every body in the car had to tell him to slow down and stop trying to overtake everybody in a people carrier. We then went to KFC and stuffed our faces full of chicken it tasted great. I had a brilliant birthday and in the end thanked my dad for taking me all though I still think my dad enjoyed it more than anybody else!!!

Gawthorpe Hall

The place we went to was called Gawthorpe Hall and was built before the English civil war, it was dedicated to King George but at the time of war the occupants fought for parliament. There were three activities to do, how to load a musket, re-enact a battle that took place and also how to make a sweet purse.

Loading the musket was a lot more difficult then I expected because you had to put in your ammo and ram it home, light the fuse and only then could you fire.

Here we were re-enacting a battle between the Roundheads and the cavaliers.

Department 19 Book Review

This book has to be in my top five, because the story is so compelling but lets start of at the beginning with the writing below the title it says: They don't exist but they save your life every day. I found this book interesting immediately just because of this writing. The story to this book was so brilliant that I could literally could not put this book down, it was glued to my hands! The story of this book is about a boy who's name is Jamie and about how he is haunted by the death of his father and also by the purple visored men who shot him.

Our week in Scotland . . . (WAS AWESOME!)

When we went to Scotland we stayed in a place called Tigh Mohr in the Trossachs. It was a beautiful manor house backed by a stunning Loch and was once visited by Queen Victoria, and I can understand why, it was an absolutely brilliant location and here is a list of some of the things there.
There was a games room, pool, DVD library, exercise room, Crown green bowling and trout fishing.
My favourite part was that they had a fly fishing pond, I caught two fish my dad caught five and my brother caught . . . nothing but he must have had the  biggest fish in the entire Loch!!! Because it snapped off the line. We also climbed Ben A'an a hill in Scotland and when we got to the top the view was amazing, we could see a mountain in the distance with snow on! In all it was an amazing week I will remember for the rest of my life.

Techniquest

This Wednesday we went to a place in Wrexham called Techniquest, where you get to program your own robot, it was relatively hard but a lot of fun.You basically had to plug the robot in to the laptop then type in the commands, unplug it press a button on the robot and it would follow your instructions. Afterwards we went into these rooms with interactive activity's, which were awesome, my favourite was a room full of mirrors and you had to try and find a way through, it was really hard but hilarious because you had no idea which way to go! THIS IS AN AWESOME PLACE TO VISIT GO THERE!!!

The Bronze Bow

This book is based in Israel about a boy called Daniel and about how his life was changed when he met Jesus. The basic plot is that Daniel wants blood , blood of the Romans, this is because they killed his father and his mother then died of a broken heart. There is a verse in the the bible which talks about bending a bow of bronze, this is in 2 Samuel chapter 22 v 35 , hence the title. But in meeting two siblings and Jesus his life was turned around. This is a very interesting book because you can see over time the change from a hot headed young man to an understanding friend. I think that this is a brilliant way to write a book and it would definitely be in my top ten, I will most certainly be reading more books from this author, her name is Elizabeth George Speare

The House of Hades

Yes I know strange title but the Majority of this book is based in Tartarus which is the depths of Hell. This book is part of the heroes of Olympus Series and has 583 pages this is an excellent book and is very moving I would recommend this book to any one who likes a long read. here is a link to Rick Riordans website.
My favourite character is called Leo Valdez who is an engineer and can make home made flash-bang grenades out of pretty much nothing .THAT'S WHY I LIKE HIM SO MUCH!!!

My Brothers Birthday

This week was my brothers birthday, and because he is mad about Lego we went to Legoland discovery centre in Manchester. I thought that I was getting old for Lego but I really enjoyed it and so did my Dad. My favourite part was miniland which is famous landmarks in miniature.
This is a picture of me, my Dad and my brother building a house for my little sister Amy, it took quite a while but was fun to build. They also had several rides which were good fun. There was a section where you could build cars and then test whose was the fastest. All in all we had a great day out. Happy Birthday Luke!

My Fridays

Good news, I didn't fall over while doing rollerblading! I was actually quite good at it and ended up staying at the park for 2 hours having fun.In that time i learnt how to break... not my leg but how to stop!!! I know that doesn't sound much but trust me its better than falling over.

Pasta Master

This Friday we did some pasta making which was very fun , but at first was quite hard.  We had to get the dough then work it for a while before putting  it through the pasta machine to flatten it out. After doing this for a while we put an attachment on the pasta maker for tagliatelle, then ran it through and we had PASTA!!!

Picture of me and my brother making pasta.

We also made a sauce which was exquisite, it was chopped up tomato with butter and onion. We also put some feta cheese in.

Lord Brocktree

Welcome to my first blog post i will be talking about as my title suggests BOOKS!

My first book is from the series Redwall by Brian Jacques, in my opinion he is an excellent writer, there is a link here to his website if you are interested.

The first book i am doing is called Lord Brocktree which is the first in the series.

The main point of these reviews is to get some discussions going, such as who your favourite character is or maybe your favorite scene. Example my favourite character is Dotti or her full name Dorothea Duckfontein Dillworthy which is a bit of a mouthful, shes my favourite because shes very calm and collected even in battle. So who's yours?

My Fridays

I am home schooled so most Fridays we go on nature walks, this week we went to Hollingworth Lake we found several different types of fungus. It was cold and muddy I was lucky I had brought boots. We were doing a general study on the things around us, such as the textures in the bark and what birds we could hear.

This week I also bought a pair of roller blades, which as of yet I have not tried out but am looking forward to using them and telling you about my experience ( which will no doubt be me falling over!)

Random fact: one hundred lightning bolts hit the earth every second!!!

Thank you for reading my first post I will hopefully be updating you every Friday.
