Department 19 Book Review

This book has to be in my top five, because the story is so compelling but lets start of at the beginning with the writing below the title it says: They don't exist but they save your life every day. I found this book interesting immediately just because of this writing. The story to this book was so brilliant that I could literally could not put this book down, it was glued to my hands! The story of this book is about a boy who's name is Jamie and about how he is haunted by the death of his father and also by the purple visored men who shot him.

Our week in Scotland . . . (WAS AWESOME!)

When we went to Scotland we stayed in a place called Tigh Mohr in the Trossachs. It was a beautiful manor house backed by a stunning Loch and was once visited by Queen Victoria, and I can understand why, it was an absolutely brilliant location and here is a list of some of the things there.
There was a games room, pool, DVD library, exercise room, Crown green bowling and trout fishing.
My favourite part was that they had a fly fishing pond, I caught two fish my dad caught five and my brother caught . . . nothing but he must have had the  biggest fish in the entire Loch!!! Because it snapped off the line. We also climbed Ben A'an a hill in Scotland and when we got to the top the view was amazing, we could see a mountain in the distance with snow on! In all it was an amazing week I will remember for the rest of my life.

Techniquest

This Wednesday we went to a place in Wrexham called Techniquest, where you get to program your own robot, it was relatively hard but a lot of fun.You basically had to plug the robot in to the laptop then type in the commands, unplug it press a button on the robot and it would follow your instructions. Afterwards we went into these rooms with interactive activity's, which were awesome, my favourite was a room full of mirrors and you had to try and find a way through, it was really hard but hilarious because you had no idea which way to go! THIS IS AN AWESOME PLACE TO VISIT GO THERE!!!

The Bronze Bow

This book is based in Israel about a boy called Daniel and about how his life was changed when he met Jesus. The basic plot is that Daniel wants blood , blood of the Romans, this is because they killed his father and his mother then died of a broken heart. There is a verse in the the bible which talks about bending a bow of bronze, this is in 2 Samuel chapter 22 v 35 , hence the title. But in meeting two siblings and Jesus his life was turned around. This is a very interesting book because you can see over time the change from a hot headed young man to an understanding friend. I think that this is a brilliant way to write a book and it would definitely be in my top ten, I will most certainly be reading more books from this author, her name is Elizabeth George Speare

The House of Hades

Yes I know strange title but the Majority of this book is based in Tartarus which is the depths of Hell. This book is part of the heroes of Olympus Series and has 583 pages this is an excellent book and is very moving I would recommend this book to any one who likes a long read. here is a link to Rick Riordans website.
My favourite character is called Leo Valdez who is an engineer and can make home made flash-bang grenades out of pretty much nothing .THAT'S WHY I LIKE HIM SO MUCH!!!

My Brothers Birthday

This week was my brothers birthday, and because he is mad about Lego we went to Legoland discovery centre in Manchester. I thought that I was getting old for Lego but I really enjoyed it and so did my Dad. My favourite part was miniland which is famous landmarks in miniature.
This is a picture of me, my Dad and my brother building a house for my little sister Amy, it took quite a while but was fun to build. They also had several rides which were good fun. There was a section where you could build cars and then test whose was the fastest. All in all we had a great day out. Happy Birthday Luke!
